A family business, built together.
Angela DeVereCEO & FounderAngela DeVere is the founder and CEO of The Global Expat Hub and the vision behind it. A senior marketing professional with more than 12 years of experience and a Certificate in Global Business from Harvard Business School Online, she first conceived the platform in 2012 and has traveled to 23 countries building the knowledge to make it real. Angela sets the site's editorial standards and leads the company.
Blake KershnerVP, IT & SecurityBlake Kershner is a U.S. Army veteran who served with the prestigious Caisson Platoon at Arlington National Cemetery, conducting more than 120 high-honor military funerals and earning the Caisson Badge. He transitioned into a technology career through the Army's SkillBridge program, earning cybersecurity certifications in Linux, Splunk and CompTIA Security+, and now works as a Systems Integration Specialist supporting defense and government clients. As VP of IT and Security, Blake manages the platform, infrastructure and data protection for The Global Expat Hub.
Hannah KershnerVP, Marketing Operations & PartnershipsHannah Kershner is a Tourism and Hospitality marketing professional and certified English as a Second Language teacher with a degree in Early Childhood Education and a CELTA certification. She brings experience across higher education, marketing and international education to her role leading advertiser, B2B partner and agency relationships at The Global Expat Hub.
What we publish
More than thirty-five sections per country, from visas and warnings to cuisine, hospitals, boats and museums, plus Affordable, Mid-range, Luxury and Retirement plans with a checklist, timeline and cost breakdown. Launching with 52 destinations, including the United States and China so people elsewhere can compare; growing from there.
Who we are
We're a family that loves to work and travel together. Between us we've scouted neighbourhoods, sat in clinics, priced groceries and asked the awkward questions in more countries than we can count, and we built this site to share what we learned. Nothing makes us happier than helping someone find the best place in the world for themselves, whether that's a first apartment abroad, a fresh start for a family or the town where they'll retire.
Editorial rules
Every figure dated and sourced. Warnings reviewed weekly, visas quarterly, ratings annually. Partners never see or influence ratings. Video we shoot for a partner is labelled as such.
